This is all I have so far, but there will be much much more. The idea is that i can't stand doing embroidery so I'm going to scribble all over it and add music and work with tempo of some sort....

Behind yo

Ok, so I've been falling behind and I'm gonna work my ass off to get it together again. The new assignment is to create an animation and include sound from garage band. My idea is to take my project from textiles and turn it into an animation. The project is an embroidery piece and I am taking pictures through the process of stitching and I'm going to connect it in the end to make it more interesting. I am also going to incorporate digital aspects that are drawn using the computer to contrast the organic quality of the cloth. Hope it turns out the way I want it. But here are some pics that are from the embroidering part.

Junk

Right now I'm currently working on a Photoshop collage based off people's junk drawers. When thinking of ideas for a collage I thought about what would be interesting and how can I keep it collagey... which isn't a word, I know. I thought junk drawers were a good way to go. There's a lot to be said about the items someone could find in another person's junk drawers. The idea can reach a lot of people too because we all have one in one form or another. I, for instance, have junk boxes; I move too often to keep my junk in drawers. When looking at my junk i realized i keep the strangest things lying around...not even practical things, just dumb nick-nacks. Then I thought about what other people may have stored away and what those items may say about them as a person. I honestly have no idea how this project is gonna turn out; I try not to think of the end result because through the process of making my ideas often change and things always turn out differently. So we'll see what happens!!!

Freezing

Todays high is supposed to be around 8ºF... I am not looking forward to all the running around I have to do either. Hopefully I can try and stay warm for the most part. I have to run to the DIA (Detroit Institute of Art) for a project so I'll update you on that experience later. Should be good but unfortunately have to go alone due to time restraints, oh well, life moves on.

The Deal

Ok, so here's the deal... I have never blogged before and am currently fighting with Adobe CS3. I don't really know what to talk about at the moment and had to start a blog for my computer imaging course. I'm not saying that this is now a new hassle that I'm going to be forced to keep up on because obviously it's not hard... that's just my reason for starting one. 

I guess I'll just say a little bit about myself. I'm currently a student at Eastern Michigan University and I'm working towards a major in Art Education and a minor in Art History. I work as a lifeguard right now at a couple different pools and do virtually nothing and get paid for it. I am a huge movie buff and probably know too much about them to be useful at anytime in my life. I also have a number of other hobbies but I'll bore you with those some other time because I have to start getting ready for work.
